Ireland Adventure 2025

North & West

October 8-17 2025

Ireland offers a diverse range of landscapes, including epic seascapes, castles, old structures, stunning lakes, and opportunities for beautiful reflections and mists. It's still a relatively undiscovered location for photographers and the quiet vibes at sunset and sunrise are a real treat.

Itinerary

The workshop will begin in the north, along the Antrim coast - known for its Game of Thrones settings and moody, rugged landscapes. We'll explore less-traveled roads and iconic sites like the Giants Causeway and the Dark Hedges. Almost all locations will involves water so get filtered up and ready to shoot.

Our next stop is Donegal, which boasts some of the most stunning coastline in Ireland, with dramatic sea arches, towering cliffs, pristine beaches, and impressive lighthouses. It's just amazing how quiet Donegal is. Long may it continue.

Then, we'll head south to Connemara, known for its rough and untamed beauty. The abundance of lakes offers fantastic photographic opportunities, especially if we're lucky enough to capture some mist. Oscar Wile described Connemera as ‘a savage beauty’.

Finally, we'll return to Dublin for our last day, where we have booked an airport hotel for those needing accommodations before their flights home the next day.

Sunrise is at a very pleasant 7.45 and sunset happens around 6.30. It's a great time of year to shoot with the lighting angle low in the sky and the promise of drama at our seascape locations. Not to mention the sociable hours gives time for a few Guinness in the bar after a satisfying sunset and hearty Irish feed.

Fitness Level

There are no long walks on this workshop with locations typically close to the car. All workshops require walking on uneven ground on beaches or lake edges for example.. We assume everyone is capable of walking up to 15 minutes on uneven ground. Kilbane Castle requires a 15 minute walk down steep steps, Malin Head requires a 20-minute walk on an uneven path. Crohy Sea Arch requires a short but steep climb to access the lower part of the beach. The upper part can be easily accessed via a short path with a steep incline.

 Group Size

We will be restricting the size of this group to only 8!
